Sami Sadek is one of the owners of Fastframe. He immigrated to Australia in 1968 from Egypt and then traveled extensively in Europe on an extended working holiday for 5 years. During this time he developed a keen interest in photography and studied in London. This interest was further enhanced through his business as he was exposed to different art forms and techniques.
Sami uses his camera to capture unique views of the people and places that he loves best.
Through his Egyptian heritage, Sami has had a long association with France and French was often spoken at home. In 1994 he toured Paris, Lourdes and Poitou and took the photos for his Beauty and Essence of France exhibition.
Sami’s fascination with French culture was only enhanced when he was captivated by the beauty of the French countryside, historical buildings, language, food, wine and people. He hopes that these pictures will convey to others the Beauty and Essence of France that he experienced.
Exhibitions – Sami has had his work exhibited at the A La Bouffe Bar & Bistro in South Yarra (2012), Chez Olivier Restaurant in Prahran (2007), Alliance Francaise Gallery in St Kilda (2005) and Barloworld Mercedes Benz Centre in Brighton.
Collections – Sami’s photographs are currently on display at the Fastframe Gallery in Cheltenham. A number of his works are also held in private collections.
